Adblue Contamination
Not all diesel exhaust fluids available in New Zealand are AdBlue®. Choose your product and supplier carefully. If it’s not called AdBlue®, it isn’t the real thing!
Problem:
It has been bought to our attention that there could be contaminated Adblue entering the market. Out of specification or non-certified product is not covered by warranty.
Reason:
The vehicle urea dosing system should not be compromised due to contamination, as it could have an adverse effect, not only vehicle performance, but could violate current emission standards.
Action:
We advise all dealers to check their own supply, as well as to contact their customers and ask them to visually check onsite bulk storage of this product. If there is white or cloudy sediment at the base of the tank we advise to immediately cease use of the product.

AdBlue: Properties and Handling Guidelines
What is AdBlue?

What is urea?
Urea is a compound of nitrogen that turns to ammonia when heated. It is used in a variety of industries, including as a fertilizer in agriculture.
Is AdBlue a toxic solution?
AdBlue is a non-toxic, non-polluting and non-flammable solution. It is stable, colourless, odourless, and meets accepted international standards for purity and composition. MSDS sheets are currently available.
How will I know that the AdBlue product I purchase will work?
The AdBlue you purchase should be fully compliant with International Standards
Organization standards, ISO 22241-1 and be certified to the German Association of
the Automotive Industry (VDA) for AdBlue manufacture and quality systems.
Is the 32.5% urea solution critical?
Yes, The 32.5% urea concentration is the ideal solution as it provides the lowest freeze point. Also, SCR systems will be calibrated to the 32.5%, so that optimum NOx will be reduced during operation.
